Caleb was born in Boise, ID on Aug 9th, 2008 and moved to Richland, WA before his first birthday. He was always full of energy and life, loved to play, and never wanted to sleep. He attended pre-school at Bethel Church, kindergarten at Tapteal Elementary, and transferred to White Bluffs Elementary for first grade just before his cancer diagnosis, when he moved to Seattle for treatment. Caleb fought a brutal battle against cancer over the next two years, doing everything asked of him. During this time, Caleb continued to grow and find joy. His creative spirit was barely contained and he spent untold hours on his iPad creating cities in Minecraft and vehicles in Bad Piggies. He was a dare devil on any playground, binge-watched Netflix, had Nerf gun fights, played King of Tokyo, collected Legos, and crushed his opponents playing Halo. He passed away at home, holding his parents’ hands, on October 11, 2017. He was brave, strong, and tired, but still wanting to continue the fight. His spirit was forged in the oncology clinic by 67 days spent in an infusion chair, 51 radiation treatments, and 59 times under anesthesia. Caleb’s family was given extraordinary support throughout this time, which allowed his parents and sister to stay with him for the entirety of his ordeal. He is survived by his parents, Benjamin and Sarah Gallaher, sister Abby, aunts and uncles Sam and Laura Gallaher, Eric Herbison, and Jeff and Shauna Herbison, grandparents Rick and Linda Gallaher, and Sherry and Neil Herbison, and great grandmother Margaret Gallaher. He is preceded in death by his great grandfather Richard Gallaher Sr. A celebration of life washeld at Bethel Church in Richland, on November 4th at 2pm.
