Thank you for supporting Avah and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
Avah Mae was diagnosed August 31st 2016. After severe stomach pain, high fevers and leg pain, and 4 Drs later, Avah was diagnosed with Low Risk ALL. As soon as she was diagnosed in our home state of Missouri, St Jude came and took Avah (and mommy) by ambulance to St Jude Research hospital in Memphis Tn when she then began a long 6 weeks of intense chemos, lumbar punctures and bone marrow tests. After 6 weeks, on October 10th 2016, Avah hit remission! Avah is a fighter and I couldn't be more proud to be her mommy.
Before Avah's diagnosis she was a fun, loving and silly normal 4 year old. Avah could not wait to start preschool, it is all she had talked about since she started talking. Avah attended 3 days of preschool until she was diagnosed. She was sad she could not finish her preschool year.
Now, after almost a year of diagnosis Avah is doing awesome! She has her rough weeks but Avah is still her fun loving self.
Avah's end of treatment date is March of 2019. She is ready to hit the beach and go on a Disney Cruise.
