On July 10, 2017 our world changed forever. Our son, Gavin was diagnosed with high risk pre B-cell ALL. He was always very active and upbeat. He had just finished playing Lacrosse in June and fractured his knee the last game of the season. This forced him to lay around a bit more. The week of 4th of July he started to feel sick with on and off feather and throwing up. We took him to urgent care that week and they weren't sure what was wrong. On that Saturday we took him to Seattle children's thinking maybe he had a kidney infection. We ended up being admitted that night with the news that his white blood counts were off and his platelets were low. On Monday they did a bone marrow biopsy and that afternoon we were given the news. News no family should ever hear. Your child has cancer. Please support me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
