Alyssa was diagnosed with Pre B Cell ALL Leukemia in June of 2013 when she was at the very young age of 16 months old. Although Alyssa was very sick and in an enormous amount of pain she always remained a happy, bubbly, smiling, little ray of sunshine. She never let her sickness get the best of her. She was always a tough little fighter. She has always managed to make everyone around her smile. Her happiness is infectious. Her road to recovery was a long, painful one. She had many doctors appointments, infections, and hospitalizations and her hair fell out time and time again but she never wavered. In October 2015 Alyssa had her LAST CHEMO TREATMENT! She has been cancer-free since then. She still struggles with some medical issues due to complications of infections she had during her battle with cancer but overall she is doing better. She is still a happy, loving, resilient little fighter. We are so proud of her. We are also proud of all of the other children out their fighting their own battles.
