What began with a doctor's visit for chest/stomach pain and difficulty breathing suddenly became a cancer diagnosis. At 16, Tori began the fight for her life against Hodgkin's lymphoma. She has endured through chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusions, multiple scans, surgical procedures and hospitalizations. She is becoming stronger every day and is an inspiration to many. She finds joy in many things including dance, her pet goats, reading, Netflix, and her dog. Tori plans to attend college and pursue a career in radiology or nuclear medicine, specializing in pediatrics.
Updated on April 11, 2018. Tori is doing very well, though is dealing with some side effects from her treatment including chronic back pain and hormonal imbalance. She now sees a host of specialists (pain management, orthopedics, psychology, cardiology, and endocrine) regularly to manage the side effects of chemo as well as quarterly appointments at the oncology clinic to check for relapse.
She will graduate from high school with her class on May 10 and plans to further her education and start a career in nursing, hopefully to work in pediatric oncology.
