In November of 2015 we noticed Micah had a little bump on the left side of his chin, we assumed he had fallen and that had been the result. In march of 2016 when the bump never went away we decided to take him to have it scanned by a specialist, our worst fear was confirmed that day. He was diagnosed with LCH in his jaw, what we thought had been a bump was actually a hole due to the cancer eating away at the bone. Chemo therapy and heavy doses of steroids started in April of 2016 and hopefully in April of 2017 he is expected to be in remission. Update: Since 2018 Micah has been in remission. It is now 2021 and Micah is 8 years old. He is in great health and enjoys the things every child should be able to enjoy. His diagnosis at such a young age along with the treatments that followed made him a strong young man who isn’t afraid of anything. He is my hero.
