Michael was diagnosed in June, 2015, with Ewing's Sarcoma-a rare and aggressive bone cancer which was located in his left tibia. There are only approximately 200 cases diagnosed in the USA each year and mainly to children between the ages of 10-20 yrs old. No one knows what causes it. We learned that the cancer was localized. Michael had 6 rounds of chemotherapy, limb salvage surgery for removal of bone and tumor, and then 8 more rounds of chemotherapy. This was a lot for the average 14 year old boy, but Michael has shown he is far from average. Since end of treatment Michael has gone through 3 more surgeries and an infection in his allograft which he is still continuing to fight. January 31, 2017 Michael's 1 year post treatment scans showed No Evidence of Disease. Please continue to Always Pray Big!
*UPDATE-On 2/12/2019 3 years post cancer treatment from Ewing’s Sarcoma it has been confirmed that Michael has relapsed. A lung biopsy confirms Ewing’s Sarcoma has spread to both lungs. We are in need of a miracle. Please continue to pray big always for Michael and our family at this time.
