On September 10, 2016, after being sent from our pediatrician to the ER, we heard the words that no parents want to hear, "your child has cancer." From our local hospital, JT was transported to Duke University Hospital for more testing to figure out his exact diagnosis, which is Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). After a long, tough first month of chemo, JT was in remission! Since his admission in September, JT and mom have spent 141 days in the hospital, with only one week at home during Christmas.
On February 27, we received the news that JT has relapsed. He was enrolled into a clinical trial in the hopes that we could get him back into remission. For nearly four months JT fought hard, but at 17 months old, gained his angel wings Thursday, June 8, 2017.
Thank you for supporting JT and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
