My Story

Julie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in August 2016, just one week before she was supposed to start Junior Kindergarten. Instead of starting school, Julie started months of intensive chemotherapy at Sick Kids hospital in Toronto. She will continue to receive chemotherapy for 2 years as part of maintenance therapy. Her treatment includes chemotherapy through her internal port, by mouth and directly into her spinal fluid through lumbar punctures. So far, Julie has done remarkably well with her treatments. Now that she is in maintenance, she attends school full time three weeks out of every four; she only attends part-time during her treatment weeks. Julie brings joy to her classmates and her family with her cheeky grin and mischievous laugh. Thank you for supporting Julie and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
