My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Alex is a 5 year old who has survived a very rare cancer (adrenal cortical carcinoma).  This cancer has a prevalence in individuals with certain genetic issues. She was found to have a genetic disorder called Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS).  This is a defect in a certain gene (TP 53) that causes a predisposition for cancer.  Most people with LFS are diagnosed with cancer in their childhood and many go on to have additional primary cancers develop throughout their life times.  There are so many genetic issues that can predispose people to cancer that we don't know about yet. Research is so important for diagnosis, screening and treatments.  Please donate to help our kids!!!
