My four-year-old, Zoe, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoblastic B Cell Lymphoma. It is usually a treatable cancer so we are sending prayers and hoping for a good prognosis. She will be in excellent hands with a top oncology team at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, but this also means a LOT of time far away from home and family...
Zoe will have to go through intensive hardcore chemotherapy and be at the hospital multiple times a week for the next six months. Then she must face continued daily “maintenance” chemo treatments (with at least monthly hospital stays) for the following two to two a half years afterwards (at a minimum…). It is going to be a loooong intense road ahead!
