My Story
Back in August of 2014, Makenna started having severe leg pain and nightly fevers. This lasted 3 days. At first, we believed it to be growing pains so we did not seek medical help. The second time it happened the symptoms were worse and lasted longer. We sought out help from our pediatritian and from there, weekly blood tests were given.
At first she was thought to have Recurring Tick Fever. On the third test, however, blasts were found in her blood. We were called to the doctor's office on a Friday night to meet with our pediatritian. He explained the lab results and told us to pack our bags. We left for Spokane that night and stayed there for 8 months of Chemotherapy treatment. Makenna will be completely finished with her treatment on Dec. 23, 2016.
