My Story

We were the average family with a 1 year old and a 3 year old. Our lives changed as we knew it when our son, Kai, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012 when he was 21 months old. After the initial shock and difficult emotions and time that followed, we were able to regroup and encouraged him through 3 years of treatment. As we approached Kai’s end of treatment period in 2015, we learned, unexpectedly,  that his cancer had returned. This time is was in his central nervous system. The blow was equally as devastating as his diagnosis. With tremendous support our family was embraced and we pushed Kai through 2 more years of treatment and cranial radiation.
It is with a humble heart that I can share in October of 2017, Kai rang the end of treatment bell at Hershey Medical Center.
Thank you for supporting Kai and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
