Diagnosed with Bilateral Wilm's Tumors on Halloween 2015, the cancer went undiagnosed for 7 weeks. When we took her into the ER the night of her 5th birthday and they said she had a Stool Blockage and sent us home. She came home from Transitional Kindergarten Friday October 30th, 2015 and couldn't walk so we took her to Kaiser where they ran many tests and found a tumor on her right kidney the size of a cantelope and a small tumor on the left kidney and 5 tumors that spread to her lungs. That was the WORST night of our lives and since then our world has completely changed FOREVER!!The doctors got her on Chemo ASAP. Kaliya stayed in the hospital the 1st time for 30 days and was completely bed ridden the whole time. It was devestating for our family and especially to Kaliya who went from going to school and being such an active 5 year old girl to being stuck in her hospital bed 24/7!!After 6 weeks of Chemo we were lucky to shrink all the tumors in half and all 5 of the tumors in her lungs disappeared. She had surgery to remove all the remaining tumors the week before Christmas of 2015. The surgery went very well. They ended up removing her whole right kidney, 6% of the left kidney, appendix, and both the right & left tumors. Starting January 4th, 2016 Kaliya started her post op Chemo and radiation. The 8 radiations she had to do have really took a huge toll on her body and she has lost so much weight over the last few weeks where she is under the 5th percentile of all kids her age. We are struggling to get her weight back up but because the radiation and chemo she has no appetite at all. We have about 18 weeks left of Chemo and are Fighting so hard along with Kaliya to Kick Cancer's Butt!! She is such a strong and happy little girl and all she wants to do is play with toys and dance constantly (when her health is good).
Thank you so much for all the LOVE & SUPPORT for our Super Princess ☆♡
