In February of 2015, Andrew was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at only 15 months. A rare chromosomal abnormality in Andrew's cancer cells has required him to be treated as a high risk patient.
The first 8-9 months of treatment were very difficult for Andrew as he dealt with most of the possible side effects, some of them very severe. He spent more than 60 days in the hospital, spread over 13 separate admissions.
The Long Term Maintenance phase of treatment began for Andrew in October of 2015, and it has been a much smoother road. Andrew is finally able to be a kid and loves nothing more than to laugh and play with his older brother Jonathan (4 yrs).
Andrew's family is so grateful to the supporters of the St. Baldrick's mission to CONQUER CHILDHOOD CANCERS! If you are able, please help fund childhood cancer research and make sure every child gets the chance to be a kid!
