My Story
Gaven was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when he was 8 years old and just about to start 3rd grade. His treatment consisted of 3-1/2 years of daily medications, monthly chemos into his port, over 20 spinal taps with chemo and 2 weeks of cranial radiation. Living with childhood cancer has definitely taken a toll and our lives will never be the same. Throughout his journey he has always remained positive and has an incredible sense of humor that has always made even the most darkest of days bearable. Gaven is now 12, off treatment, and for the first time since 2nd grade, he is attending school as a "full time" student. We see the effects that the years of treatments have had on him and keep hoping that someday a cure is found and no more children will have to suffer.
