Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
My daughter, Claire was diagnosed with cancer at 7 months of age. Typically, germ cell tumors are responsive to chemotherapy and easily treated. But Claire's wasn't. She relapsed two times over the next two years, for a total of 3 sessions of chemotherapy. In the end, two weeks before her second birthday, she underwent to surgery to remove her tumor. To ensure that the margins of the tumor were clear, the surgeon had to remove her vaginal wall and her urethra. Claire turned 7-years-old in September of 2014 and remains without evidence of disease for 5 years.
