My Story

My beautiful daughter was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on the stem of her brain just 20 days after her 8th Birthday. She was given 12-14 months to live. The diagnosis was devastating to our entire family but with the help of our awesome community, family and CHM staff, we made it through. Summer immediately began to LIVE the Life she had left. She braved her way through 6 weeks of radiation treatment. Scared yet smiling! Summer was everything I strive to be today. She was a kid of great Faith, strength and Love. She believed that God would take her to heaven and she would live again. My Oh my.. no child should ever have to endure this.. On 3/10/14, Summer gained her wings. Her life and legacy will go forth. Her strength has inspired me to fight, not just for her but for other children and families that have to suffer through this deadly disease. Forever in Our Hearts! Fly High Butterfly!
