My Story

Lathyn began his journey towards being Cancer free on July 24th when he began seizing uncontrollably. Within a matter of hours we found out that he had a tennis ball sized tumor in the left side of his brain, reaching over into the right. We would later find out it was named Glioma. They have not been able to determine anything more detailed then this broad diagnosis. He was life flighted to a children s hospital farther away from home where they would be able to do the tests that Lathyn needed in order to begin his fight. The doctors had him in a medically induced coma and did not think he would wake up. He did. They then didn't think he would come home from the hospital. He did. They then told us he wouldn't be able to go to school. And he is. He began chemo therapies 5 weeks ago. So far his counts have been hanging on and he is doing ok. This week he began to lose his hair, thankfully he is pretty proud of being bald. Thank You for your support of St Baldricks and all they are doing in the world of pediatric cancer research. No more, children like Lathyn, who wake up in one instant and their life is changed. Its time to ditch the name Cancer, Lets work for a Cure. God Bless
