Just 3 weeks before Sydney's 2nd birthday, she was diagnosed with having a Wilm's tumor on her right kidney. She had the tumor and her kidney removed on August 25, 2005, as well as, having a port implanted in her shoulder area for her chemo treatments. Her chemo treatments lasted 4 months. Sydney had CAT scans done every 3 months for the first year after treatment. Now that we began our 8th year out of treatment, Sydney still goes every 6 months for scans. All that we can do is hope and pray for cancer-free results with every visit to the hospital.
Sydney has an electrifying personality and melts the hearts of everyone who meets her. She enjoys going to school, being involved with her Girl Scout Troop, playing with her little sister and all of her friends. She has quite an imagination and truly loves living each day to the fullest. We love her with all our hearts and because of foundations like St. Baldrick's, we can count on Sydney living a very long and healthy life. Thank you for your support and May God bless you!
