My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Hi! I'm Ali and this is my second year participating in the St. Baldrick's Fundraiser, but I am eager to repay this special organization for all their incredible help. It's hard to believe how much my life has changed in the last 6 months. I was diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin's Lymphoma on November 15th, 2013. My tumor, located on the left side of my neck, was 11cm by 8cm at its largest. In only six months, with the amazing help of the Valerie Fund and the support my family, friends, and incredible classmates and teachers, I beat Hodgkin's. I am proud to say that after a brutal battle with chemo and radiation, I am cancer free!!! I'm already back at school enjoying senior year and looking forward to being a Freshman at NYU in the Fall! As Charles R. Swindoll once said, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." Cancer has helped me appreciate life and all its blessings.
