"Shelly" was diagnosed with High Risk Leukemia at age nineteen. She recently entered the maintenance phase of her treatment. Shelly will celebrate her 21st birthday just prior to the Children's St. Baldrick's event. She attended last year's event as she was hospitalized at the time and helped out with task of shaving a lot of heads.
Shelly lives independently and does an amazing job navigating her way through a complicated treatment course. She has persevered through many tough days during the first year of her therapy, often taking the city bus by herself to and from clinic appointments. Her care team is so proud of her!
