My Story
Never underestimate the power of a nine year old boy. That is what we were taught back when you received your first diagnosis in 2011. Back when a grim prognosis could have robbed us of more than two years of amazing time with you.
Instead, you jumped even higher as each hurdle was raised. You and your amazing family refused to be defined by almost impossible odds. You defied those odds with your wondrous energy, earnest warmth, intelligence, and inexhaustible courage.
Those drawn to you to give support or to help enrich your life ended up being the ones who came away having gained something so rare. You inspire countless people of all ages. Your courage and grace has touched all of us and and has changed us for the better.
We will miss everything about you. You were admired in so many other ways, too. A gifted soccer player and all-around amazing athlete. You were the fastest lego builder around...and you were a "mental ninja" at video, board and card games. There was not much at which you did not excel.
Most of all, we will always yearn for your magnetic spirit, kind eyes, warm smile, and healing hugs. Despite this deep grief with which we are now left in your absence, your light will shine on forever within us and in the continued celebration of your life. You leave behind countless broken hearts, but these hearts have been touched so deeply within your 12 short years with us, and you will live forever in them.
"Where a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories". Team 20, Forever.
