My Story
Norah is a sweet 9 year old girl who loves life to the fullest. She loves nature and catching frogs. Favorite days would include playing at the beach, feeding the giraffes at zoo, or watching My Little Pony. Norah loves her ballet class and art projects. Her best friend is her younger brother Owen. Owen is the best brother and has been at Norah's side through all of Norah's cancer treatments.
Our family discovered Norah's cancer on accident. She fell ice skating November 2013 and complained of neck pain. I took her into the emergency room as an overly cautious mother concerned with the neck pain. That day a tumor was found inside her first neck bone. She was diagnosed on January 2, 2014 with Osteosarcoma. The location of Norah's tumor is very rare. Her treatment will include over 30 weeks of chemotherapy (completed October 2014) and a surgery (completed April 2014). The 22 hour surgery was successful and removed the tumor in one complete piece. We are thankful for all our doctors and nurses. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
Our family is committed to supporting St. Baldrick's. We hope that no other family will need to hear the news that their child has cancer. Please support this cause and put an end to cancer in children. Owen and I (mom) went bald last April in honor of Norah. She kicked cancer's butt. Be Bold, Go Bald, Kick Cancer!
