Ike is seven years old and was diagnosed with B-ALL Leukemia on May 6th, 2013 just 3 days before his 5th birthday. Ike has not wavered in his fight against cancer. His strength and courage has shown through and has inspired a lot of people. He is an amazing child who has a sense of humor like no other and loves his two sisters, Sophia and Claire, so much. He has a love for hockey, baseball and of course, MICHIGAN!!
Ike is currently in what is called the "Maintenance" phase of treatment. Maintenance consists of a nightly chemo pill(1.5 pill) taken right before bed, a weekly chemo(8 small pills), an antibiotic to keep pneumonia at bay as well as once every 3 months a spinal tap, chemo through his port and spine. Ike also visits clinic once a month for lab draws and a port flush. His current end of treatment date is July 10th, 2016. Counting down the days :)
We have been fortunate with Ike's diagnosis and have a fighting chance to beat this thing, others are not so lucky. We hope that in raising awareness and fundraising, we can help others in someday finding a cure.
