My Story
St. Patrick's Day 2003...Matthew began his conditioning regimen of total body radiation and chemotherapy to prepare him for a bone marrow transplant. Our family moved to Seattle for the risky procedure and long recovery. The Luck of the Irish was with us then and now as we approach his five year anniversary March 24, 2008, praying for his continued remission. Looking back on the last five years is overwhelming, but we remain incredibly thankful. Thankful for Matthew's illness being one that is treatable...Thankful for Michael, our brave son, and his matching marrow...and thankful for organizations like the St. Baldrick's Foundation who work hard to help make the dream of all parents of children with cancer come true...finding a cure.
