My Story
Adam Lumpkins has been fighting Acute Lympoblastic Leukemia since he was diagnosed on Christmas Eve 2008 at just 21 months old.
Adam has endured years of Chemo treatments, set-backs and hospitalizations. In June, he was hospitalized for 45-days, including weeks of being in-tubated and on a ventilator, fighting Pneumocystis Pneumonia.
On November 16, 2012, after being hospitalized for severe head pain, Adam's parents got the devastating news that Adam's Leukemia had spread to his Cerebral Spinal Fluid and the lining of his brain.
Adam is currently admitted to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is being prepped for his bone marrow transplant which will take place on March 14, 2013, the day before his 6th birthday.
Adam is the son of Jamie, a Charles County Paramedic, and Chris, a Federal Firefighter in VA. Adam has an older brother Christopher and older sister Raegan. The family is originally from Southern MD, and currently resides in King George, VA.
