My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Hannah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on June 24, 2012. Unfortunately on July 18, 2012 we found out that the cytogenetic testing on her leukemia cells indicated that she had a very high risk form of ALL called Hypodiploid ALL. Because of this particular trait of her leukemia cells, her treatment was ramped up and the search for a bone marrow donor began immediately. Thankfully a donor was found and she received her bone marrow transplant on December 14, 2012. Fortunately the transplant went very well and engraftment happened after only 10 days. Unfortunately she had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic which kept her in the hospital for longer. After 5 and 1/2 weeks she finally went home doing very well. She is home on isolation, but is doing great!
