Mick (Mickey Mouse) was a bug and turtle loving, happy child. Mickey made our family complete, He adored his older brother Neil and together we have traveled to fun and exotic places like Switzerland, New York and Hawaii.
Our life changed forever in December 2009, when our son Mick was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. What followed was an eleven months long battle. Half way through "the journey", after returning from proton radiation treatment, we thought that we had won the fight against the beast. We were wrong..... Mick's cancer had returned and spread while on treatment....Our little, tough guy hung in there. He watched his favorite Tom and Jerry Cartoons and spent time with his brother Neil and his Mami and Papi. As long as he could, he would ride his little red and blue bike around the neighborhood and feed the ducks at the pond.
Mickey's oncologist tried everything to keep the disease from spreading further. We tried different chemos and more radiation but we couldn't win the battle.
Our son Mickey closed his eyes forever on November 8, 2010 at the age of 3.5 years. We love and miss him so much.
