Layla is a beautiful, smart, vibrant 7-year-old who was diagnosed in July, 2011, with Wilm's. It has been almost two years since completing her 28-week course of treatment which included 17 rounds of chemotherapy, 6 radiation treatments, and two surgeries. Throughout her treatment, she never complained or asked "why me?" Layla handled the 8 months of treatment with grace and courage, and her spirit remained positive throughout. She enjoys playing with her sisters, loves the Disney princesses - especially Aurora - and anything pink. My wife and I are very proud of our little girl and are grateful that she is currently in remission. She's has two years of clear scans - three more years and we will be able to say she is cured. Thank you for your support!
Update, 2/2019: Layla is now cancer free and is enjoying her life to the fullest. She excels in school and as a saxophone player, and enjoys playing tennis and volleyball. She is truly a wonderful daughter and sister to her 3 siblings. We are blessed.
