Ben was doing great one year post bone marrow transplant but then relapsed on Feb 21, 2013. He underwent treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The leukemia cells returned in his abdominal lymph nodes. Ben was a charismatic, fun-loving kid whose smile brightened every room he entered. He was wickedly funny with a quick wit and a contagious laugh. From an early age, Ben had a compassionate sensitivity toward others that was beyond his years. He was generous to a fault; he loved giving presents just for the sake of giving presents. Ben was endlessly positive through both health and illness which brought strength to those around him. He was humbly unaware that his courage inspired an entire community. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
