My Story

Zoe was diagnosed 10/19 with Lymphoblastic Leukemia and congestive heart failure, her bone marrow was 98% blast, meaning that only 2% of it had good blood cells... she turned 5 years old on 10/25/11. She has not lost her smile. She lives in TN, and is about 40 minutes from Vanderbilt Hospital, so they drive several times a week for treatment. 11/11 she had pathology results come back along with spinal tap and bone marrow biopsy, they expected no more than 1% blast to be present and it came back with 3.5% meaning that the chemo was not working, so they put her on a super aggressive treatment for 57 days W-Th some at the hospital, some at home, but if her immunity goes down she can't get a treatment that week. She spent Christmas Eve in the hospital, but was released Christmas day, in all of this, she has gotten a new sister that was born a few weeks ago, and is such a trooper, but at 5 we all wish we could give her a day to just not have a care in the world.....
