My Story

When I think of Ashley I see her smiling face and those big brown eyes. She liked it when I told her she had "Bambi eyes." Her daddy always said it was her smile that he liked best. There was a reason for the light in her eyes and the smile on her face, Ashley was filled with the joy of the Lord. She loved Jesus and she knew that Jesus loved her. All who knew Ashley knew how happy she was, even when she wasn't feeling well. Having cancer might have changed Ashley physically, but her heart overflowed with a love and a joy that grew and spread to all who knew her. Though short, I know Ashley's life was filled with purpose. She belonged to the Lord and we were blessed to have His precious little lamb in our lives. Ashley's sweetness could turn the toughest guys into big old teddy bears when she walked into a room. Ashley never gave up, whatever she did was done with all her heart. She was very determined and sometimes pretty stubborn. She could be just as feisty as anything until she got what she wanted, but at the same time Ashley was very trusting and accepting. She suffered more than I can bear to think, but her suffering is over and I know she is well and happy, singing, running and playing.
