Xander was first diagnosed on May 18, 2010 with a rare form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma and after several months of chemo and radiation, he was declared in remission on October 26, 2010, the best news we could have received.....unfortunately the cancer that isn't supposed to come back, DID and on December 26, 2012 we received the devastating news that Xander had relapsed. This time around is really venturing off into the unknown as there have not been many relapses for Xander's type of cancer which means no "set" protocol....which means he gets treated and we wait, hope and pray for his scans to be clean.....and unfortunately with cancer, you never know if it's coming back because there is no guarantee.
Xander is raising money for St. Balderick's on behalf Kapiolani's Team along with his amazing doctor, Darryl Glaser....we need to find a cure for cancer, no one should have to know the devastation and heartache it can bring to a family.
Xander usually has a smile on his face and his laughter can be heard for miles; to say he enjoys life is an understatement....but when he undergoes chemo treatments, he's unrecognizable....the anxiety, nausea, vomiting....it's so unfair.....but outside of the hospital, once the chemo side effects start to taper off the happy Xander shines through and remains “Confident for the Cure”
Please support St. Balderick's and all the people who raise money for this amazing organization....our thanks is endless!! Xxx
