Stephanie was a very bright, energetic, personable young woman who had just completed her freshman year at UCLA when she was diagnosed in July 2008 with Ewing's Sarcoma - the soft tissue type that was located in her lower left pelvic area.
She was active in athletics in elementary and middle school. She was an avid Irish dancer, winning many competitions and trophies. In high school, she was a cheer leader for 4 years, including one year as captain. Active in Model United Nations, she graduated with a 4.5 weighted GPA.
At UCLA she was a pre-med major and was active in Stroke Force. She finished her freshman year with a 3.92 GPA, and was classified as a junior.
She like running, music, reading, learning, and being with her many friends.
She underwent chemo, radiation, and surgery, was declared cancer-free in June, 2009. In January 2010 she was diagnosed with an inoperable metastatic Ewing's brain tumor. Radiation and chemo were not successful, and she finally passed away on November 8, 2010. She never complained and always maintained a positive attitude. A true role model and hero!
