Maggie is a precocious little girl who has never met a stranger. During her two and a half years of active chemotherapy treatment, and various lengthy hospital stays, Maggie was a face many of her doctors and nurses were eager to see. She could find fun no matter what was going on. She was curious about what was going on and definitely loved the attention. You could always hear her singing her own songs as she moved about the hallways, rather danced down the hospital corridors. Even today, no matter where Maggie is going, you can be sure she is dancing there.
Maggie was diagnosed with her ALL at the age of 4 and never missed a beat of her childhood. She cannot remember life without her doctors and nurses and childlife specialists at the hospital. She is learning what it means to be in remission and having a "normal" childhood, attending school, making friends, going to parties and playdates and ballet-- true to Maggie's personality, she is loving life. No matter what the future holds for Maggie, you can be sure she will be meeting it with a skip and a dance and a song.
