My Story
Tanner was an energetic 3 year old little boy, who loved Thomas the Train, Cars, Trucks, Planes, and all things that go. He was incredibly loving and affectionate, and had been known to tell random people at the supermarket "love you!" Tanner was our first born son, and we waited 4 long years to conceive him. Tanner was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma in his CNS just before his 2nd birthday. He completed a 40 week protocol in June 2012, and we thought we were in the clear when he went for his follow-up MRI in July, but we found out he relapsed, and bad. There is was no cure for Tanner's cancer since the relapse, so he went to the hospital 3 times a week for chemotherapy in the hopes that his cancer would not grow, and we could maintain his quality of life for as long as possible. His cancer diagnosis was devastating to us, and his loss is the greatest tragedy any parent could ever imagine. He was the toughest little guy we have ever known, and we will continue to fight this battle in his memory for other children who are going through it! Tanner was an amazing child, and a wonderful big brother to Chase, who is now 3 years old and talks about Tanner every day.
