Gavin Jon was born with Infantile Fibrosarcoma. (A Cancer of the soft tissue)He has had 7 operations. (5 on his arm where the tumor was) By the time he was a month and a half old he was already on Chemo treatments. We were told from the beginning that Gavin Jon may lose his right arm where the tumor was and so we prepared ourselves for that. He had to have two Cancer removal surgeries in less then a week of each other. We were so lucky that the Cancer had not reached his bones yet. (It was just inches away) Sadly though with this kind of tumor it likes to wrap around everything! Gabs lost almost all of his muscle, tendons and ligaments in his arm where the tumor was and a good surrounding area of it. By the grace of God the WONDERFUL surgeon was able to keep his arm.
It has been a rough road .. Just this August Gavin Jon had tendon replacement surgery in hopes of using his arm and hand better. So far he is doing well and proving all wrong who doubted him!
