Andrew was an extremely fun child, he loved to play with his toys,
go to preschool and play with his friends. Andrew was a very active
healthy child until one day he complained of a headache while play at
home. I took him to our towns emergency room to find he had
cancerous brain tumors and that he would need an operation and
chemotherapy. I was devastated. Along the course of 11months I
watched Andrew fight with more courage and strength than I have
ever seen any adult muster up. He always smiled even though he
was in pain or sick from chemo. Andrew was an inspiration to
everyone who meet him.
Andrew earned his wings on January 11th 2006 at 8:04am at
UC Davis Children's Hospital in Sacramento CA. Andrew died
of Medullablastoma which had a 20-40% survival rate at
diagnosis. This disease primarily strikes boys between the ages
of 5-10. I am inspired by son who taught me to still fight when I
am sick and to smile when I am tired. This is in dedication to my
little boy who fought like a man.
