Ava was diagnosed with ALL at age 3, her baby sister was 5 weeks old. She did extremely well throughout induction and the other phases, only hospitalized for her initial diagnosis. Then she got to maintenance and is now on her 5th hospitalization for fever and neutropenia. She takes it all stride. She wants to be a nurse and 'practices' every chance she gets, always asking the real nurses for 'supplies' and trying to sneak the real needles!
Ava is very outgoing and very happy-go-lucky. She loves to dance and sing and make up her own songs. She is very sensitive and caring towards and (usually) always happy to share her things with her friends at daycare....running out to mom's car when I am there to pick her up to find what treasures...gum, stickers, etc... that she can give to her friends. Ava recently got two new puppies, Cinnamon and Sugar, whom she loves to spend time with along with her little sister, Ella, playing outside every second they can!
