My Story

Joey was diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitts Lymphoma on August 10, 2009. Joey was treated with chemotherapy treatments at a very aggressive pace. Through this journey that he traveled, Joey remained positive, and always kept his warm smile on his face. Joey is a very upbeat little boy, his personality just makes everyone smile. He has had to mature so quickly, like so many other children fighting this terrible disease. Joey is a complete inspiration to his family and friends, he is our "Hero". With so many prayers being said for our little Hero, Joey's tumors dissolved after the second chemotherapy treatment. As of January 22, 2011 Joey has been cancer free for 1 Year! Joey is full of life again and has that glow in his face and in his eyes. Joey is back in school this year and playing basketball for his school. He is a wonderful child and just loves to mak us all laugh! We will always celebrate Joeys real birthday on June 8th but we have also made a commitment to celebrate his "second birthday" every January 22. On this day in 2010, this was the day that we heard the very last "beep" come from the IV that was giving Joey chemotherapy. This was the day he was given to start again. Every 3 months Joey has his scans and oncology appointments and it is a constant reminder of how greatful we are to the Dear Lord, but it is also a reminder of how many children are diagnosed and fighting each and everyday. We must continue to make everyone aware and we must continue to pray for these children and their families. We Thank Each and Everyone of you for your donations as well as your prayers!
