My Story

Jazzy... has been through a lot in her 9 years. A few days after her 5th Birthday (November of 2005) we learned she had ALL. After two years & three months of treatments @ Loyola under Dr. Manera she was cancer free & we thought we would not have to look Cancer in the face again. May of 2009 after finding a lump on the back of her neck we were right back where we started, feeling defeated. We were left with two options. To start another two years & three months of more intense treatment or a bone marrow transplant, IF her only sibling was a match. The chances of 8mo old Jr. being a match was 25%, and he was! After about three months of chemotherapy, the 4 of us packed up & headed to Milwaukee (CHW) to prepare both kids for the BMT. Jazzy endured extreme measures of chemotherapy & radiation as well for the first time. September 17th 2009 was Bone Marrow Day! With the help of The Ronald McDonald House we stayed together until we were able to move back home this January. After a few up's & down's Jazzy has amazed us with her spirit & strength. She is recovering remarkably & we are hoping she can get back into the swing of things & return to her 4th grade with her classmates this April!
