My Story
Ryan was a sweet, beautiful baby. We often referred to him as an "old soul" because he was so calm and peaceful. When Ryan was 7 months old he was diagnosed with an Ependymoma brain tumor. He fought bravely until 17 days after his 3rd birthday, when he left us forever. Although he endured many brain surgeries as well as radiation and chemotherapy treatments, he never lost his sweet nature.
Ryan loved to play with cars and trucks with his big brother Griffin. He loved to throw and catch bouncy balls with his Daddy, and he loved to have his favorite story "What Makes a Rainbow" read to him over and over. He also loved to be cuddled, and I spent so many nights just holding him in my arms, with his little hand wrapped around a strand of my hair, feeling his heart beating against mine. His chubby cheek nestled against my neck, and the sweet smell of baby lotion; these are the memories we will never forget.
Ryan touched the lives of so many people in the short time he was with us. His strength in the face of great adversity was an inspiration to us all. He is so very missed, and he is so very loved. His legacy lives on in people like Jack; whose caring, generosity and thoughtfulness insure that Ryan will never be forgotten.
We love you sweet baby Ryan!
