My Story

Robert was a young man with an unusual love of life and family. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because he loved to have his family all around him. He also loved good food! Robert was polite and friendly, the kind of boy that made you feel good about yourself. He was a friend to anyone he met. After his diagnosis of leukemia when he was just shy of 10 years old, he had to leave his friends at school and stay home for the rest of the year. When he was well enough, he went back to his school to make an appearance on the morning news to share his story with the other children in the school. Robert was well known and well liked by the students and teachers at his school and he wanted to share his story with them. He appeared on the news that day wearing his mask and looking rather sickly. I was told that the students were never so attentive to the news. Robert really made a difference in our world!
