My Story
I met Alyssa back in 2005 when she was first diagnosed. She would
come into the Aflac clinic and walk right up to my desk in the front. She
would just sit there and talk and giggle until she had to be called back
for her treatment. I remember one day someone gave me a sticker
with a monkey's face on it. I placed the sticker on my computer and
went about my day. The next time Alyssa came in she came straight
to my desk. I told her that I had a picture of her on my computer; she
giggled and shook her head in disbelief. I told her to climb up on my desk
and take a look. To her surprise I showed her the monkey sticker.... she
laughed and laughed and laughed. From that day on her nickname was
monkey.... and from that day on her laughter stole my heart. dc
