Carter was diagnosed with a massive inoperable malignant brain tumor in February 2009.
Through all the tests, pokes, blood draws, and head checks, he managed to keep his wonderful sense of humor and his high spirits. He even found time to flirt with his nurses by pulling his E.T. impersonation.
