In Nov. 2008, Alex was diagnosed with Stage IV Aveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma at 16. Alex completed the aggressive treatment in May 2010, and was in remission for 7 mos. After a relapse in Dec. 2010, he underwent experimental treatment for four months. Although in remission again, Alex's bone marrow never recovered from the harsh treatment. In July 2011, he was diagnosed with a secondary cancer (Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia) caused by treatment for his first cancer. Alex passed from us to eternal life on Aug 21, 2012.
