Michael is a very energetic boy, who has a passion for life. Because of
everything he has been through, he is happiest doing things that most
kids consider "normal" - going to school, having friends over to play,
going to swimming lessons, etc. He is always smiling and loves to
make his friends laugh.
When he was diagnosed with cancer, we saw a significant change in
his spirit. Since the cancer was growing so fast, it took over his body
and drained him of his energy and even his desire to play with his
toys. Then, once the chemotherapy started, his energy levels sank to
an all time low due to the combination of the chemo, the side affects
of all his medications and the fact that he wasn't eating due to the
nausea. He lasted this way through most of his treatment, due to the
intensity, but we thank God every day for returning our son to us. At 7,
Michael is once again a kid with boundless energy, and a zest for life.
