Today Charlotte is a feisty, active, healthy and yes, cancer-free little 2 1/2 yr old. She is interested in Barbies and dollies. Her best friends are her 3 1/2 yr old sister and her 5 yr old brother. Sounds like any other child right - well, we consider her very special in so many ways!
Diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma at 3 weeks old, she endured 1 year of aggressive chemo and multiple surgeries resulting in the removal of 4 ribs, some of her diaphragm and much of the muscle and soft tissue of her right side. To look at her you would never guess all that she has been through. We are so proud of her and count our blessings everyday. Her battle continues and we pray continuously that her cancer never returns - she is 22 months cancer free! Please visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/charlottewesoloskie to follow her progress.
We are so thankful to all that helped save her life. She received her treatment at Connecticut Children's Medical Center - which is part of the Children's oncology group. The funds raised through St. Baldrick's may have helped fund research that will allow our Charlotte to live a long, healthy, cancer-free life. We are grateful that organizations like St. Baldricks exist and that people like you are helping save our children.
