Scott was as active as any 7th grader starting Junior High. He was his baseball team's 2nd baseman and ran on the school cross country team before he was diagnosed with leukemia. It hit like a ton of bricks but within two weeks we were able to breathe a sigh of relief because he was already in remission. He still has over 3 years of treatment and followup ahead of him, but he has kept a great attitude about the changes in his life. Scott continues to smile despite feeling poorly, losing his hair, and having to miss school. We've been fortunate to have our family, friends, and faith to lean on. We give thanks for simple successes--eating two eggs for breakfast and being able to make it to friends' birthday parties--and look forward to taking even bigger strides in the days, months, and years ahead.
